A mecha design for megasxlrfan's project "Mechanical Battle Avatar Hyperion".

The 5th and final mecha in the hero team, this unit is designed as a long-range support combatant. Its main weapons are the two enormous railguns mounted on its back, which can fire solid rounds at about Mach 8 in an atmosphere when fully charged. The recoil from firing these weapons are great enough that this mecha must unfold its legs and extend special anchors to avoid knocking itself over, and it is incapable of firing both at the same time. Its secondary weapons are a set of smaller beam cannons in its fingers, which afford it some close-in firepower if an opponent gets too close for the railguns. The sophisticated targeting computer and multiple sensors allow for accurate, independent targeting of all its weapons at once - even to the point of shooting down a swarm of incoming missiles with its finger cannons or hitting an airborne mecha flying a complex evasion pattern. It gets around on the ground mainly by 'skating' using the jet engines built into its lower legs - in fact, the jet engines are fully capable of using both air and water, giving this mecha greater than usual underwater operational abilities. However, it is far more limited in space as it has only a handful of rocket thrusters.
