Game Concept - Support Crew

Description

More drawings from my game concept. This time, some of the 'good guys' other than the player's vehicle.

The two characters at the left are the support crew for the hero. The pilot is a catgirl for no other reason than I like catgirls and wanted to include one in the game somewhere. XD The other, the operations commander, I wanted to be a no-nonsense kind of person who would clash comically with the hero. In a fit of absurdity, I decided to make her hair look vaguely like a bug. You can see some of my playing around with it along the bottom.

The transport plane is intended as an easy way to move the player from stage to stage. It's a sort of chibi-ized cross between a C-130 cargo plane and an Osprey VTOL, with some catlike features thrown in as a nod to its feline pilot. The tank machine can enter it to get repairs, swap parts, and to travel to other stages.

Of course, not every stage initially has a convenient landing area. For one of the later missions, the player will have to retrieve the "Grasscutter" bomb from another stage and use it to make a landing area. The "Grasscutter" is inspired by the "Daisycutter" bomb used during the Vietnam war for similar purposes, with the name referring both to the real-life version and the legendary Kusanagi sword. Just as the "Daisycutter" was the largest non-nuclear explosive in the world until recently, the "Grasscutter" is one very big bomb. XD

Finally, a good closeup of the hero character, showing off his 70's mecha hero hairdo, his FIGHTING SPIRIT, and his tenuous grasp of the English language. XD I think it'd be hilarious to have him speak in Engrish, but unfortunately I can't mangle my native language enough. Ah well, such is life.
